 INTERNATIONAL CALLBACK FAQ
 Frequently Asked Questions

This page contains answers to most common questions we receive about international callback along with some tips and tricks that we have found useful. If you have a question that's not covered here, please contact us and we will be glad to assist you!

Q: Why should I use callback?
A: When you pick up the phone and dial a number, you rarely think about how that call reaches your desired party. When you dial the number, your local phone company then sends the call over its network and charges you for the privilege. If you live in a country that is dominated by one large telecommunications company (PTT), chances are that you are being severely overcharged when you make international phone calls. callback offers you an alternative to your high-quality PTT, providing the highest quality service for your phone or fax at savings of up to 75%!

    Q: Is callback legal?
A: Contrary to what you may have read or heard, the services offered here do not, for the most part, break any law. Certain countries make callback difficult: for more information, refer to the callback section.

Q: Do I need any special equipment?
A: No. only a touch-tone phone, or a pocket tone generator is required for all services. No modification to your equipment is necessary. You will, of course, be able to use your existing PTT services as usual.

Q: Do I have to change my existing long distance carrier to use your system?
A: No, the use of callback does not affect your existing carriers in any way.

Q: What is the difference between all types of callback you offer?
A: Just like a television dealer might offer two or more brands of television sets, we offer different brands of callback service. There are little differences between the features available between all services, other than the rates for each country. Which service is better, depends on where you are calling from and where you are calling to and what features you need.

Q: How long does it take to activate a new customer?
A: Once we have received the completed application, and it has been approved (legibility, credit approval), you can expect service to begin within 24 to 72 hours.

Q: How do I place a call with callback?
A: Placing a call with callback services consists of three steps:
    1. Call your assigned Access Phone Number (also called APN or DID) in the U.S.
    2. Wait for the callback, which you will receive within seconds.
    3. Pick up the callback and dial your final destination number.

Q: Can I make more than one call without dialing the APN again?
A: Yes, this is possible with all our services. Please refer to each service page to get proper instructions.

Q: I cannot dial the U.S. Access Phone Number (APN) because international dialing is blocked from my country or my (mobile) phone. How can I use the service?
A: You may use callback Triggering via Web.

    Q: Is there a sign-up fee?
A: Generally NO! There are no sign up fees, no billing fees, no participation fees or extra fees of any kind, other than the charges for actual usage. You may sign up and try the service without risk or obligation. As this might be wrong for certain services, please check each service page to confirm this statement.

Q: Is there a minimum usage?
A: Generally NO! Unless many competitors, if you do not use the service, there is no bill. As this might be wrong for certain services, please check each service page to confirm this statement.

Q: How are my phone calls timed?
A: After the initial thirty seconds, we calcualte the length of your call in six second increments. So if you speak for one minute and six seconds, you will be billed for 66 seconds (not two minutes as other providers). As this might be wrong for certain services, please check each service page to confirm this statement.

    Q: How am I billed?
A: Our service providers accepts all major credit cards: MasterCard, VISA and American Express. Some do also accept Diners and JCB.

Q: Do you charge for busy lines?
A: No, our services never charge for uncompleted calls. If a line is busy or there is no answer, there is no charge.

Q: How do you calculate the rate? Do you charge VAT?
A: To determine the cost of any call, find the cost listed with the country from which the call is being made and the cost listed with the country being called. Add the two figures and that's it! All billing is in six second increments with a minimum call being 30 seconds. Rates are in US$ per minute, valid 24 Hour/7 Day. There is no VAT charge.

    Q: Do I get a detailed report?
A: Yes, at the end of each month, we send you a printed detailed report by E-mail. The total amount is split into subtotals for each Access Phone Number. For each call we list date, time, complete number, location, duration and cost.

Q: Can I change my callback number?
A: Yes, FOLLOW ME option provides a convenient way to change your callback number at any time. As this might not be available for certain services, please check each service page to confirm this statement.

Q: Can I use callback with my cellular phone?
A: Yes, it might even save you money because it is an incoming call and in many countries you donĂt have to pay for the incoming call. Be sure to check the rates for cellular as they can be different in certain countries.

Q: Callback has been around for several years now, and most of the problem that has been experienced is that the callback never arrives, or the quality of the reception is bad. How is the quality of your services?
A: Despite technological advances, many countries still have an infrastructure that is struggling to keep up with the growth in telecommunications. Sometimes there is blocking of incoming calls due to lack of adequate facilities at the international gateway and interference on the lines at times.
