 E-MAIL TO SMS DELIVERY
 SMS Bulk Mailings via E-Mail

To send SMS bulk messages by E-mail, you need to compose and send a specially formatted E-mail message either manually or through your applications. Our system will receive your E-mail message and will process its contents for bulk delivery. The number of individual recipients per E-mail request can be arbitrarily large; also, it is possible to compose a personalized message for each recipient with this method.

 Setting Up the E-Mail Message

To perform bulk delivery via E-mail, you need to compose a message containing the recipients' phone numbers and the short messages to send to them. You can create such a list by copying/pasting or importing data from your office application or address book into your E-mail program. The message text of your E-mail may contain the following control commands, which must each begin on an own line.

  • UID=... (mandatory) specifies the username and password of the WorldXS.net SMS account to be charged for this mailing. Both items are separated by a comma. Example: "UID=test1234,passw123".
  • ORIG=... (mandatory) specifies the 1-16 digit originator number to appear on each message.
  • DATE=... (optional) specifies the date and time when transmission of this SMS batch shall start. Example: "DATE=12.09.2000 14:05". If a date (in the format "Day.Month.Year") is specified, it must also be followed by a transmission time (24-hour format: "hours:minutes"). The time must be specified as Central European Time (CET). If no date and time command is found, the system will start processing the batch as soon as possible after receipt of your E-mail message.

Apart from the control commands described above, your E-mail must also contain one or several recipient phone numbers. Each number and associated message (separated by a comma or semicolon) must begin on a new line. Recipient numbers are listed in international format (CountrycodeNetworkcodePhonenumber) without leading zero digits. Example for a U.K. (+44) customer: "4478234343481;This is a test". Each E-mail request may contain any number of such messages.

If you want to send the response as a Flash SMS (message will appear directly on the recipient's phone display without being stored in the in-box first), you need to start the message with a backslash ("\").
Blank lines are allowed and will simply be ignored. Any other message content which does not conform to the above syntax will lead to an error for security reasons.

 SMS Transmission

SMS transmission will start automatically at the date and time you requested in your E-mail (or as soon as possible after receipt of the E-mail, in case you did not specify deferred delivery).
Due to the nature of E-mail, E-mail messages may encounter delays on the way between your server and our gateway.
